IT IS a new era for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is considered the start of the fourth State where the pillars have been strengthened by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Abdulaziz since he assumed power a few months ago.
King Salman took quick steps to transform the Kingdom into the era of youthful grandchildren who graduated in the hands of veteran leaders who established solid relations with their community. Based on this, the latest royal decree is considered the second historic paradigm shift of the Kingdom in all levels. It reflects realization of the importance of choosing competent people for suitable positions.
The smooth and calm changes in the administration of the Kingdom do not only reflect its long term vision, but also a country of firm establishments which are not perturbed by the ongoing events in the region. For this, the Kingdom has always managed to preserve its development course within the structure through which it was formed despite exceptional regional circumstances.
After completion of the process today, I believe the coming period will witness a series of structural developments and legislation which will water down the administrative obstacles in a bid to create a healthier environment in the public and private sectors in accordance with the vision which the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques started four months ago. This new vision is aimed at pumping young blood into the veins of the whole State, because in this era of advanced technology, bureaucracy will not continue for long. It is an obstacle which weakens the performance of the administrative body of the State.
Once the obstacles take root, they will lead to various challenges which will hamper and delay development and spread corruption in establishments; especially if the laws are not in line with modern demands. For instance, it is not plausible to close an establishment or stop a project due to a simple mistake, or on the basis of a report prepared by an inspector from the Municipality, Labor or Trade Ministry.
In a country like Saudi Arabia, the wheel of projects never stops from rolling. Every day, the economic scope expands in order to cope with continuous population growth and meet the need of the State to modernize its infrastructure. Therefore, it has always been necessary to update the systems.
We are not exaggerating when we say that the series of new royal decrees ushered in a new era minted with synchronization of the veterans and the youths who have proven their ability to accomplish tasks assigned to them. This is the reason why the ‘storm of major changes’ — as named by the Saudi Arabia — is one of the themes of its new era which started with the reign of King Salman, just like the positive effects of the previous instructions concerning the State domains. These instructions blew the dust away from several major files.
Just like the ‘Decisive Storm’ and its crystal clear message to all regarding the limit of Gulf patience towards the gone days of organized hostility and destruction, these royal orders were issued to form a new driving force to work towards progress in various aspects.
